Catching You Up on Things at Cayuga Media Group
Cayuga Media Group wins Serving New York Award!
We are all proud here at the Cayuga Media Group to have been awarded a “Serving New York” award from the New York State Broadcasters for our program “The Way to Wellness”. This program is a series of mental and physical wellness tips delivered on radio by our talented on-air personalities. They focus on strategies that every person can implement easily and daily that will improve physical and mental wellbeing.
Mid-Season: Buffalo Bills Football!
At about the halfway point of the NFL season, the two teams we carry are on opposite sides of the standings. The New York Giants (NFC East) are 2–7 but playing competitive football behind rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart, who’s shown real promise. Unfortunately, their rookie running back Cam Skattebo suffered a season-ending ankle injury two games ago. While their playoff chances are slim in a tough division, the team is clearly building an exciting offense for 2026.
The Buffalo Bills have bounced back from two consecutive losses and are now just half a game behind the New England Patriots. Their recent win over the Kansas City Chiefs was a statement victory, and they’ll need to stay hot to keep pace in the AFC East.
Carrying both teams on radio is a win for fans and advertisers alike—no other medium provides the kind of pregame and postgame coverage that local radio does. It’s easy to see why so many advertisers want their message in high-demand programming like NFL Football from the local affiliate.
Bobby Bones Joins Our Airwaves
With Chris Allinger’s well-deserved retirement from Q-Country mornings, we’re now three months into broadcasting The Bobby Bones Show. Bones is one of the most awarded personalities in radio—he’s received the Daily National Personality of the Year, Academy of Country Music On-Air Personality of the Year, and the NAB Distinguished Service Award. His show is top-rated in markets nationwide and delivers a mix of humor, entertainment, and great country music in every hour.
So far, streaming numbers strong and listener feedback has been overwhelmingly positive. After more than 30 years with Chris, we know change takes a little getting used to—but as one listener put it, “Okay… this is pretty good!” We couldn’t agree more.
Looking Ahead: 2026 Advertising
Good advertising is available to every business; you just need to know who and how to tap into it. We continue to impress to our clients to MAKE A PLAN. One that you can execute with consistency. There are many choices out there- but they should all work harmoniously together in order to maximize reach, frequency, and create synergy in that messaging across all mediums. Need help? Please call! We can set up a winning plan for your business.
Ad-Sync: A Game Changer
About 40% of our clients have now added Ad-Sync to their radio campaigns. This innovative feature displays text on vehicle dashboards while your ad plays—perfect for reinforcing your brand, highlighting a phone number, or showcasing a special offer.
Studies show Ad-Sync can boost ad recall by up to 60%, and including a call-to-action (like a phone number) can prompt immediate customer response.
607NewsNow.com: Now Featuring Native Advertising
Our hyperlocal news site, 607NewsNow.com, continues to grow—now over a year old and gaining both traffic and new advertisers each month. We’ve added features like Top Trending Stories, Seasonal Guides, Weekend Updates, and Native Advertising. The latter has been especially successful.
Native articles on a local news site are incredibly effective for advertisers because they blend your message seamlessly within trusted, community-focused content. Readers engage more deeply, and your brand benefits from authenticity, credibility, and relevance. Native advertising builds meaningful, lasting connections—the perfect complement to your traditional campaigns.
